Blue is the rarest color in the floral world. Roses, peonies, tulips—none of them produce a true blue hue in nature. The delphinium does. Its tall flower stalk, covered with dozens of tiny blooms, instantly elevates a bouquet from the "beautiful" category to the "never seen anything like this before" category.

Delphinium (commonly known as larkspur) is a herbaceous plant of the Ranunculaceae family, the same family that also gave us anemones. The name comes from the Greek "delphinion" - "dolphin": the shape of the unopened bud really resembles a dolphin's head. Peonies. The color range ranges from pale blue to deep cobalt and violet; there are also white and pink varieties, but it is the blue that makes delphinium indispensable for florists working with a cool palette. Symbolically, delphinium is associated with openness to bouquets "as a gift," but also for wedding arrangements: arches, hanging garlands, tall vase arrangements on banquet tables.
How to combine:
Delphinium works well in two roles. Solo in a tall weight - several stems create a minimalist, almost architectural composition. In a mixed bouquet, delphiniums provide a contrast to warm flowers: white roses, cream peonies, or eucalyptus add depth and prevent the bouquet from looking too sweet. Placed nearby, and changing the water every 2-3 days, delphiniums will last 7-10 days. They are more sensitive to stagnant water than roses, so changing the water more frequently is recommended. We accept delphinium orders with 24/7 delivery in Kyiv – we'll deliver your bouquet or individual stems daily. You can also pick them up in person from one of our two stores on Lesi Ukrainky Blvd.
